about
Nathan J. DiPerri is an illustrator, cartoonist, and playwright who specializes in charming and whimsical entertainment for all ages. Using traditional drawing and painting media on paper, he cuts out the pieces and assembles his compositions in layers with tape. Nathan strives to package realism and whimsy in fresh images that are at once striking and charming. His work has appeared in magazines such as Cruising World, The Spectator, Kappan, and Weekly Humorist.
Under the moniker Frega DiPerri, he and his creative partner are the co-creators of the Coffee Lovers’ Christmas greeting card and product line and the Buddy and Romeo comic and animation series. Their single panel cartoons have been published in numerous magazines and are licensed worldwide through CartoonStock.
Nathan’s newspaper comic strips — My Guardian Grandpa and Mates and Dates — were published daily from 2011 to 2018. The strips continue to reach new audiences through four book compilations (My Guardian Grandpa) and each week on Substack (Mates and Dates). He has written six stage plays; the first of those plays, Miss Wallace Rhymes With William, is published by Heartland Plays, Inc.
In his spare time, Nathan enjoys drinking coffee and wearing cardigans.
